The Locallypop Promise

The Concern

We hate it when web services we use get shut down.

It occurs too frequently, and it causes us users of the service much frustration having to source for another developer, provider or service to migrate to, wasting time and money.

From speaking with many customers, we’ve found out that this happens to also be a key concern when it comes to using the Locallypop service for your website.

The Promise

So, Locallypop is proud to make the following promises:

  • As long as you continue paying for the Locallypop service at its contemporaneous monthly rate, your website will be available online, and you will be able to access the Dashboard to edit your content. This essentially means that we promise to never shut down the website platform service.

  • If Locallypop, its parent corporation, or any affiliated entities are acquired, purchased, or taken control of by a third party in a way that would negatively impact the service, we will do everything in our power to ensure that the above promise endures as part of any legal agreements into which we enter.

How this is Possible

We are a small, profitable company with low costs that are covered by paying customers. And while we hope to continue growing, we also hope to maintain a sense of dedication to how we treat our customers’ online presence. The promises reflect our own values and how we want to be treated.

In that way, both Locallypop and its customers’ interests are aligned.

Conclusion

We’re still working out the finer details, but if you have any questions or concerns about these promises, please say hello: hello@locallypop.com.

a. "Content" refers to user-generated data and the structural organization of that data on the Locallypop.com domain or subdomains. Such Content includes text and up to four images included in websites that were input by human designers on the Locallypop service using Locallypop-provided tools including the Locallypop.com website. Such Content does not include externally-linked or embedded data, or illegal data. It also does not include data that violates our Terms & Conditions.

b. "Available" means that the content is accessible at a permanent URL on the Locallypop.com domain or subdomains. This policy applies if you use a custom domain, but the data preservation promise only covers access to your data via the permanent alternative Locallypop.com subdomain name (we can’t promise to keep your domain registration and DNS records up-to-date).

c. "Forever" means until the HTML "web" is no longer generally accessible or until Locallypop becomes financially insolvent (which we intend to avoid given that users pay for the service). In the event that one of these extreme cases comes to fruition, the founder of Locallypop currently intends to take additional actions in order to continue honoring the above promises.

d. These policies are governed by our Terms of Service agreement and are subject to change at any time.
